In 1873, John George Howard legally deeded and gifted High Park to the citizens of Toronto. It was legally specified that High Park was to remain “for the free use, benefit and enjoyment of the citizens of Toronto" - never in the history of High Park has the term ”citizens of Toronto” excluded those Torontonians who are not physically fit or able.

Stop the most limiting access policies in the History of High Park ... by 2027, you will no longer be able to access High Park by Car. A protest petition was started 3 years ago against the year round total ban of all cars from High Park. Close to 20,000 have signed the petition against these most limiting access policies in the history of High Park. Policies that exclude far too many of Toronto citizens. Most Torontonians are not even aware that the Park will be closed in this way. “JUST SAY YES!!” TO SUPPORTING THIS IMPORTANT PROTEST AGAINST THE POLICIES THAT TOTALLY BAN CARS FROM HIGH PARK.
